Mentor North enrolls youth ages 7-14 living in Duluth and Superior. Once enrolled, youth can remain in our programs until their high school graduation or 18th birthday.

Benefits to Being a Mentee:
- You develop a positive, caring relationship with an adult who listens to you, respects you, and is there to support you.
- You can try new activities while also sharing your favorite hobbies and interests with your mentor.
- You learn more about yourself!
- Develop a relationship with your mentor, spending a minimum of 4 hours per month together for at least one year in a mentoring relationship.
- Approach mentoring with an open mind and willingness to learn.
- Share with your mentor about your day, your interest and your goals.
- Share with your parent, caregiver, and your Program Advocate about how the relationship is going with your mentor.
- Check in with the mentor regarding your youth’s progress, and communicate regularly with them.
- Check in with your youth regarding the match. What did you do with your mentor today? What do you and your mentor want to try next?
- Keep in regular contact and respond to Program Advocates, updating the program about how the match is going from your perspective. keep all contact records updated, including phone, address, and email.
- Meet with Program Advocates on a yearly basis to provide updates to bio’s, and to provide feedback to the program for evaluation.
Watch for a pre-made match. If there is an adult in your youth’s life that may be a potential mentor, talk with us about next steps and how we can help facilitate a match.
